Patron: Good morning! I want to find some French books. Does your library have French books?

L: Yes, we have a big collection of French books

P: That’s great! Could you show me how to find them?

L: Yes, Frech books are kept in close stack. In addition, we have some new ones in Friendship Reading room.

P: OK. How can I find specific books?

L: First, you choose OPAC (online public access catalogue) on library website which help you to search for the bibliograrphic records of  item in library

P: Could you show me how to search on OPAC?

L: Yes. You can see on the interface of OPAC, there are many choice options. Please type the title of
materials, author’s name or key words in the search boxes and click on Search. The results will show you a list of bibliographic records.

P: What are the bibliograrphic records?

L: The bibliographic records surrogate for items in library collection. They illustrate briefly title, author name, publisher, year of publishing and summary of content.

P: Do bibliographic records help me to find exact materials?

L: Yes, you can see the call number for the item in library collection. Please read the instruction below the bibliograrphic records. It will show you the room that you can find the relevant materials
